From Gabriel Soto to Barbara de Regil: These are the fines for influencers for illegal support of PVEM

Actors, youtubers, singers and other characters who violated the electoral ban will pay sanctions ranging up to 113,000 pesos

The Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation presented the resolution on the issue of the violation of the electoral age by relevant figures, or influencers within the social network Instagram.

The publications took place on 5 and 6 June prior to and during last year's elections, where several calls were made to vote and support a single party: the Green Ecologist of Mexico.

In total, there were 80 defendants and only 76 turned out to be civil society figures, who, although there were no elements to indicate that they were paid, their message was unlawful in times of the electoral ban. They were fined large sums of money.

In this regard, the Electoral Tribunal took into account some data for the imposition of economic fines, such as the degree of damage to the legal property protected and the particular circumstances of the dissemination of the message.

In addition to the above, they also focused on deterring, through sanction, the possible commission of similar offenses in upcoming and future elections.

In the first case, 26 persons were punished according to their economic capacity, and based on a percentage of their annual income. These were:

And in the second case, 50 more influencers who do not fit into the case of the previous ones, although taking into account their economic capacity and proving the violation of the electoral ban, even fines of 4,482 pesos were imposed.

The fines are:

Manuel Tadeo Fernández, Eugenio Siller, Gustavo Zapiain, Evelin Zuckerman, Quetzali Perales Filio, Maria Cecilia Alvarez, Crystel Lopez, Daniel Manzo Garza, Jose Eduardo Miranda, Maria Fernanda Moreno Palacios, Brigitte Fuentes, Jesus Julian Soto, Heydee Hofmann, Mauricio Lopez, Norma Lucia Alanis, Diego Rafael Ovando, Jose Mauricio Ruis de Chavez, Deborah Mizary Rocha Milar, Deborah Mizary Rocha, Dania Lizbeth, Brenda Alicia, Mario Alberto Rodriguez, Mildred Dinorah Berron, Cesar Palma Hidalgo, Diego Garciasela, German Cobos, Grissel Natalia Cortes, Erick Saldivar, Isabel Madow, Claudia Carrera, Mariana Zavalza, Nicole Sinai Lopez, Oscar Arturo Tlatelpa, Renata Martinez Nieto, Victoria Andree Ojeda, Eleazar Gomez, Sofia Lama, Kristal Cid, Maria del Rosario Cid, Christian Estrada, Ivonne Garcia, Romina Ivana Pasos, Ximena Sanchez, Edgar Heyoan Zendejas, Luis Mendez Gonzalez, Nabile Guerra Flores, Emilio Sanchez Olivares, Priscila Estefania Alvarez, Luis Daniel Bautista Gil and Jibranne Bazan Lopez.

The document also reported that in accordance with article 458, paragraph 7, of the Electoral Law, the fines imposed must be paid at the INE Executive Directorate of Administration. In addition, each was given a period of up to 15 working days, counted from the time after which the present judgment was enforceable.

If payment is not made, then the INE has the power to advise the financial authorities to proceed with the coercive collection in accordance with applicable legislation.

Finally, the tribunal requested the Specialized State to provide information regarding the payment of the fine within five working days after it is paid by its various debtors.
