The Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, highlighted tonight that the agreement with the International Monetary Fund won strong political support in the National Congress and praised the “leadership of President” Alberto Fernández to end the legislative treatment with an endorsement of “80%” of the forces with parliamentary representation. The law that approved the refinancing of the $44.5 billion debt was rejected by Kirchnerism and had the peculiarity in the Senate that Vice-President Cristina Kirchner decided to withdraw from the building before the vote.

“In this context of geopolitical conflicts that increase international inflation in food and energy, it is of particular importance to provide certainty rather than increase uncertainties. With the leadership of President Alberto Fernández, we worked for this and massive support was obtained,” said the official in a series of tweets he posted on his official account.
