With a final stop at Trenton Military Air Base, in the province of Ontario, Canada, the aircraft arrived in the Mexican capital shortly before midnight on Tuesday. In addition, 23 members of the crew and support team traveled, as well as representatives of various media who accompanied the rescue operation. According to diplomatic sources, the FAM plane has space for about 150 people and at first the rescue of some citizens of Central America was also contemplated. The aircraft, which departed on 11 March, carried 1.5 tons of humanitarian aid items on the outbound flight to Ukrainians fleeing the invasion of Russia that began on 24 February. This Mexican Air Force aircraft was the second to perform these functions after a first one that landed on March 4 with 81 people rescued, including 44 Mexicans, 28 Ukrainians, 7 Ecuadorians, one Peruvian and one Australian, as well as a dog.
