Epigmenio Ibarra's acid commentary against Felipe Calderón

Epigmenio Ibarra again lashed out at the former president Felipe Calderón and ironized the way in which he has acted on social networks when questioned about alleged acts of corruption, both by himself and collaborators, during their administration.

Through his official Twitter account, the founder of Argos Comunicación asserted that, during his tenure, Calderón Hinojosa allegedly spent 1.8 billion pesos on the construction of a fence at the Tula Refinery, a project that aimed to be part of the events for the Bicentennial of Mexico's Independence.

Faced with such information that the journalist also offered to his followers, he decided to question the reason why Felipe Calderón “goes out of the internet”, that is, he disappears from the networks when issues of corruption or security are debated in the public arena.

“#AquíLaTienen Felipe Calderón “spent” 1.8 billion pesos on the perimeter fence of the Tula Refinery that they would call “Bicentennial” and which was never built. Is that why the internet goes away when you touch the issues of corruption in your pocket? #ConAMLOtendremosDosBocas”, he wrote this Monday, March 14.

However, prior to that message, Ibarra also questioned the expense for the public treasury of the work of the wake of light, which he renamed the “stele of corruption”. However, the expanist was not the only one who received criticism, but also the former president Enrique Peña Nieto.

Faced with such comments, he pointed out that yesterday, during the public tour that took place at Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), he documented “the amazement” and “pride” of some people at the country's new airport.

In addition, he said that he is also proud of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's (AMLO) tour of the Dos Bocas refinery, since he assured that both projects are “two mega works of the town”.

Epigmenio Ibarra's words came days after Calderón Hinojosa pointed him out to reproduce an “incongruous and hypocritical” speech of the current federal administration, in relation to the letter that AMLO sent to the European Parliament.

Likewise, the Michoacán politician recalled when the producer in 2015 asked the European legislative body to intervene in the case of the 43 missing students from Ayotzinapa. On that occasion, and through various tweets, Ibarra asked his followers to pressure the parliament to receive the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) Ayotzinapa and avoid the case being closed.

It was under this tenor that Felipe Calderón expressed himself accusing, in addition, Epigmenio of “receiving simulated money in credits”: “Incongruence and hypocrisy is the mark of the house. And they still forgive him taxes and give simulated money in credits to Pigmenio,” he published.

Faced with this, the journalist denied the accusations of fiscal diversion, claiming to be sure not to lie in his statements, as well as in the accusations he continually throws against the panista for “having his hands stained with blood”, the latest in reference to the beginning of the security strategy of his mandate, better known as war on drugs.
