
Bayern Munich delivered a resounding 5-0 victory against Stuttgart on Tuesday, at the Mercedes Benz Arena. Both sides arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Stuttgart had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning last match whilst Bayern were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Mainz and Borussia Dortmund. Following today's result, Stuttgart and Bayern currently occupy 15th and 1st spots in the league, with 17 points and 40 points respectively after 16 matches.
Bayern started the first half well, with Serge Gnabry opening the rout just before half-time. The score at half time was 0-1.
The Reds started the second half with renewed vigour, with Serge Gnabry finding the net again at the 53 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Reds, who then scored again through a goal from Robert Lewandowski at the 69 minute mark to establish a 3-0. Bayern looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a second effort from Robert Lewandowski, 72 minutes in to establish a 4-0. However they weren't finished yet and Serge Gnabry made it 5-0, 74 minutes in to make it 5-0.
For Stuttgart, Chris Fuhrich, Silas Wamangituka, Wahidullah Faghir and Alexis Tibidi, came on for Philipp Forster, Tanguy Coulibaly, Orel Mangala and Omar Marmoush. Bayern brought on Leroy Sane, Nianzou Tanguy Kouassi, Malik Tillman, Mickael Cuisance and Omar Richards, to replace Kingsley Coman, Marc Roca, Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller and Alphonso Davies.
There were bookings for Atakan Karazor from Stuttgart, and Alphonso Davies, for Bayern.
Stuttgart will next travel to FC Köln, while Bayern will face Wolfsburg at home.
