A casual conversation with USA Luge’s Dmitry Feld will have you soon addressing your friends with "Privyet" and "Dasvidaniya".
Imagine, then, what you’ll learn on a 10-day tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg, culminating with a day at the Sochi Olympic Park and two final days at the 2014 Olympic luge site in Krasnaya Polyana where USA Luge will race for 2020 World Championship medals.
Feld, USA Luge Marketing Manager, originally from Kiev, has created an insider’s tour, arriving in Moscow on Feb. 9 where the excursion begins. It will conclude on Feb. 17.
The U.S. Olympic luge federation worked in collaboration with Bucket List Events, the Official Travel Agency of USA Luge, to create this itinerary.
"I’m very anxious to show USA Luge family members and friends my homeland, using personal connections and colleagues to truly bring our touring group inside Russia," said Feld. "I am putting together guided tours of Moscow, the Kremlin, Palace Square, museums and a monastery. And of course, people who know me know that no experience is complete without food."
To that end, Feld’s group will experience such well-known local eateries as Trapeznaya Palata, Hlebnikov and Russkaya Ryumochnaya, among many others.
Feld will also bring the cultural element to his traveling companions in the form of Russian folk music (Feel Yourself Russian) and ballet.
Once inside the country, the cost for this one-of-a-kind tour of Moscow and St. Petersburg is $1,400 per person, and includes flights from Moscow to St. Petersburg to Sochi, all museum tickets, most lunches and dinners, rail tickets, transfers and transportation, guided service, folk music performances, tours and standard rooms with breakfast in the 3-Star Hotel 1913 in St. Petersburg. Participants must book their own travel from the United States to Moscow, and from Sochi back to the U.S. Also, Dmitry will assist in procuring a mandatory Russian visa at the expense of the traveler.
