USA Shooting Board of Directors (BOD) seeks well-qualified candidates for the USA Shooting CEO position. Following a Board meeting and Executive Session in early April, the BOD made a unanimous decision to conduct a search. The last search before took place in 2017.
With the postponement of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, The BOD sees a unique opportunity to fill the position that has been vacant since June of 2019. The goal is to select the best person for the job to lead the team and put in place a new proposed strategic plan. All while focusing on a prosperous future for USAS Athletes.
"We are ready to take the next steps to place USA Shooting in a position to grow our international sports here in the United States, increase our dedication to our athletes, and expand our medal potential abroad in keeping with the American spirit," said Chad Whittenburg, Chairman of the Board, USA Shooting. "I am extremely excited about the opportunity presented to us to continue moving USA Shooting into the future on a positive path. Rest assured, Bob Gambardella will continue to serve as the interim CEO throughout this process. We’re confident in his ability given his proven record in the last 10 months and proud of initiatives, like the Raise the Flag Campaign, to continue."
The full BOD will serve as the CEO Selection Committee, chaired by BOD Vice-Chairman, Rick Marsh. Both internal and external candidates will be considered.
