Team Coop, the world’s leading long distance cross country ski team, is in full preparation for the winter. A new collaboration with the world’s leading ski wax manufactures, Swix and Toko will ensure the athletes to have the fastest possible skis for the coming winter. Swix and Toko will be the official ski wax supplier starting a closer collaboration with Team Coop.
- We have worked a lot with Swix and Toko before but it is good to have a closer collaboration with feedback and new products. Both Swix and Toko are in the front, developing new products and at the same time very stable in the performance of their well-known products. It is inspiring to work with the best and I think there will be development from both sides, says Ulf Persson, head wax technician, Team Coop
With experience from both the Swix Ski Classics, Olympic Games, World Championships and World Cups, Ulf sees significant differences in the service work between marathon races and shorter races.
- The races last three to four hours and with a course going point to point, the conditions can change a lot. We need to focus on the whole picture and make sure the athletes have good skis from start to finish. It is a must to work with products that we know have a wide range, and Swix and Toko are perfect in this sense.
- We are proud to work closer together with Team Coop. Since we already are involved in all the Swix Ski Classics races with Swix or Toko service, this collaboration will give us even more feedback and help to give all of the participants in the races the best recommendation for excellent skis, says Bjørn Håkenrud, Sales Manager in Swix Sport.
