(ATR) Sportel's return to Miami after a two-year absence is just six weeks away.

For the first time, a high-end one-day conference will be held on March 3 ahead of the three-day deal-making convention on March 4-6.

Sportel revealed this week that among the many panel sessions scheduled for the conference will be ones focused on sports media content, living with piracy, OTT and how it is revolutionizing boxing as a sport, and whether North America is a major soccer territory.

"We took the decision to organize the conference before the convention in order to make sure everyone has their schedules clear, and it is not running in the middle of other events when clients are already busy in meetings. This way, it is an opportunity for us to gather our community to attend the conference," said Sportel CEO Laurent Puons.

Companies who have already confirmed their participation in Miami include ESPN, Eurosport, FIFA, Infront, ITF, NBA, Premier League, LaLiga, Turner and BeIn Media Group.

OTT Summit in Atlanta

The inaugural OTT Summit USA is on Feb. 19-20 at Turner Studios in Atlanta. More than 300 sports business leaders will tackle topics ranging from the challenge of launching in new regions to the approach of niche sports and what to make of the streaming bundle wave.

Senior executives from Bleacher Report, fubo TV, NASCAR, and Tik Tok are a part of what organizers call "an unrivalled lineup of experts" speaking at the event.

Delegates will be able to take the WarnerMedia studios tour, go behind the scenes at the NCAA March Madness operations and tour Turner Sports' social media "War Room".

The second edition of OTT Summit Asia will again be in Singapore for 2020. SportsPro says the event, which will be on March 25-26, will focus on bringing the key stakeholders from the Asian and international markets together to connect on all aspects of the sports OTT revolution.

In addition, the seventh edition of SportsPro Live will be taking place in London from April 27-29. LIke the 2019 event, the 2020 agenda will be structured around five pillars including Data, Smart Venues & Cities, Sustainability, Broadcast and Digital Transformation.

Executives from Sky, Eleven Sports, and Manchester United are the latest speakers added to SportsPro Live.

Inaugural Global Sports Week Paris

Global Sports Week Paris makes its debut at the Louvre next month.

The core agenda for the English-language event, which will be held from February 5-7, will focus on exploring the two-way relationship between sport and society at a time of disruptive change.

Organizers say it will feature well-known figures from the worlds of global entertainment and government as part of a program of "talk show"-style discussions and interviews in the round.

"Among other powers, sport fosters social inclusion and gender equality. The Global Sports Week is a special opportunity for activating this power collectively," says the Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay.

UNESCO is a supporter, joining a group including French President Emmanuel Macron, who is High Patron of the event, and Founding Partners BPCE Group and the French Ministry of Sports. The International Paralympic Committee, UEFA and EPCR are also backing the event.

The plans are for Global Sports Week Paris to become an annual event.

SportAccord Unveils Principal Media Partners

SportAccord will have five Principal Media Partners for its World Sport & Business Summit in Beijing in April.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that iSportconnect, SportBusiness, Sportcal, SportsPro and Yutang Sports were chosen "due to their exceptional coverage, reach and expertise within the global sports industry".

The news organisations will provide media and marketing support for SportAccord 2020, including in-depth reporting from the event, which will take place from April 19-24 at the China National Convention Center.

"We are delighted to have lined up an established selection of Principal Media Partners, all of whom have been involved in SportAccord for several years. Their coverage – before, during and after the event – will provide a vital platform for the key messages, insights and news developments in relation to the highly anticipated SportAccord 2020 in Beijing," John Hewitt, Event Operations Manager, Communications, SportAccord said in a statement.

In October, CNN was unveiled as the Top Media Partner for SportAccord 2020, as well as the inaugural Regional SportAccord Pan America 2019 that took place in December in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

It provides opportunities for sports marketing and media industry professionals to meet and network with professional team/community club delegates, top athletes and facility owners.

A record 560 exhibitors will be at the event.

Among the exhibits are ones featuring athlete performance technology and stadium and arena equipment. Special conference sessions include one on digital marketing and social media strategy for Spain’s LaLiga soccer league.
