Jack Warner Quits FIFA Under Corruption Cloud
Suspended FIFA vice president Jack Warner has quit world football's governing body, escaping punishment over bribery allegations that have plunged FIFA into its worst-ever crisis.
The 68-year-old from Trinidad was under investigation for colluding with Mohamed Bin Hammam. The pair allegedly offered $40,000 cash bribes to members of the Caribbean Football Union in exchange for their pro-Qatari votes in the race for the FIFA presidency.
Warner’s resignation from all international football activities means the charges have been dropped.
"As a consequence of Mr. Warner’s self-determined resignation, all Ethics Committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained," FIFA confirmed Monday in a statement.
A source close to the FIFA ethics probe tells Around the Rings' sister site World Football INSIDER he’s disappointed the bribery investigation is ending without a conclusion.

A new Euro-Africa table tennis satellite circuit will launch in 2012.
The circuit is a result of a partnership between the International Table Tennis Federation, the European Table Tennis Federation and the African Table Tennis Federation.
"The ITTF is very happy with this excellent initiative between the ETTU and the ATTF, which will enhance the competition programme for the associations in Europe and Africa," said ITTF President Adham Sharara.
