(ATR) The United States Olympic Committee makes two more executive hires as part of its broad restructuring plan under new chief executive Sarah Hirshland.
Katie Bynum will be chief of staff, a new position.
Bynum will oversee international relations and will help coordinate the USOC’s working relationship with LA 2028 and U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Properties says a USOC release.
She joins the organization from the U.S. Golf Association.
The portfolio of international relations was previously overseen by Chief External Affairs officer Patrick Sandusky, who left the USOC to join Madison Square Garden. Sandusky also oversaw government relations and communications. Those two portfolios will be reallocated to other positions currently in the USOC.
Bobbi McPherson, named chief people officer, "will lead the human capital team with an increased focus on talent development and education for administrators," says the USOC release. She has 14 years in human resource experience.
Both Bynum and McPherson will begin their roles next month.
An additional change was made to the USOC executive structure, with Christine Walshe promoted to chief development officer.
Walshe served as vice president of principal and major gifts before her promotion, and also serves as president of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation. She first joined the USOC in 2008, and began her new position on March 4.
"Each of these three accomplished leaders is committed to building the type of organization that the athletes of Team USA so richly deserve," Hirshland said in a statement about the hires.
