The fishing cyclist, Boyacá, Miguel Ángel López looks forward to his next competition, where he will go to win the overall victory: the Tour of the Alps. There the Colombian will be one of the favorite riders to keep the title, although he will have to face tough rivals and in quite strong days.
The transalpine race will start this Monday, April 18 and will have 5 stages, which will go until next 22nd of the same month. There will be more than 700 kilometers that the riders will have to travel, and most days they have a mountainous component, which gives it a significant level of complexity.
Lopez seems ready and makes his own analysis about the race and his key days to look for the top of the overall standings. This he told the press of the race organization:

Miguel comes from doing a few days high in Tenerife as part of the preparation process for what will be the Giro d'Italia, a competition that will be one of his main goals of the season on his return to Astana Qazaqstan, after just under one season being with the Movistar Team of Spain, from where he came out in the middle of a controversy which resonated throughout the world squad during the 2021 Vuelta España.
After having returned to the squad that took him to the top category of world cycling and with apparently greater comfort, he will seek to make an important season for his record, because so far this year, and counting on what he showed the previous year, he seems to be in a good time.
Miguel 'Superman' López, will be the main card of his squad that would tentatively also take two other coffee growers such as Sebastián Henao and Harold Tejada, two important gregarians for what will be the middle and high mountain in the Italian race.

Other Colombians would also be included in the Tour of the Alps. According to the specialized road cycling portal ProCyclingStats, Brandon Rivera will support his fellow Ineos Grenadiers in the competition, Santiago Buitrago will race with Bahrain Victorious and Esteban Chaves will seek a win for the EF Education EasyPost, while Éiner Rubio will do the same with the Movistar Team.
Other coffee makers also appear in the race list such as Johnatan Cañaveral, from Bardiani, Didier Merchán, from Drone Hopper Androni Giocattoli, Daniel Méndez, from Kern Pharma, and Juan Fernando Calle and Yesid Pira, from Caja Rural. Without a doubt, the Colombian riders will have something to talk about: so far in the 2022 cycling calendar, they already accumulate a dozen stage wins and some victories in general rankings.
