Easter in Peru: 10 places to travel near Lima cheap and safe

We show you a list of 10 destinations to make the most of this year.

1. ANTIOQUIA: It is a small and peaceful town located among the hills of the province of Huarochirí, just 70 km from Lima. It is also known among its inhabitants as the Espíritu Santo people. This magical place is famous for its colorful. The best season to take advantage of Antioch's splendid sun is between April and December. Thousands of visitors find the perfect photo thanks to the stunning daylight.

2. LUNAHUANA: This is an ideal place for adventure sports or outdoor activities such as canoeing, mountain biking and more. It has a wide variety of wines and pisco, as well as attractions to awaken your adventurous side.

3. LOMAS DE ASIA: located at km 101 of the Panamericana Sur. 5. CATAHUASI AND TUPE: it is the hub of liaison and departure to the town of Cachuy and to the district of Tupe, a unique town that seems to have stopped in time, where the ancestral Jaqaru language is still spoken.

6. CARAL: With Caral's discovery, history books had to be rewritten. Visiting its citadel, you will have the opportunity to get to know the remains of a town that developed its culture five thousand years ago.

7. MARCAHUASI: East of Lima is one of the most striking destinations in the world: the huge forest of granite stones, known as Marcahuasi. It is located in the province of Huarochirí, at 4000 m a.s.l. m. and is four square kilometers long, so it is a wonder to visit it.

To reach this destination you must drive for an hour and a half from Lima to kilometer 80 of the Panamericana Sur, then take a detour to the district of Santa Cruz de Flores.

9. HUARAL: a beautiful and fertile valley that in its surroundings has several attractions such as the impressive Rupac archaeological complex or the “Machu Picchu de la Costa”. There is also the Castle of Chancay, to enter you must pay S/ 20, and in the case of children S/ 10.

10. CHURIN: it is surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes, it is known for its thermal waters with medicinal properties that come from the depths of the earth.
