Last Saturday afternoon, the law was passed in Congress to eliminate IGV from certain foods and the congressman of Peru Libre, Guido Bellido showed his annoyance on his social networks, since those products are not part of the basic family basket.

Madam President of the Congress of the Republic, we call for greater judgment; we will not allow the law and the trap to be done at the same time. You cannot impose laws against the country in the name of the basic family basket and justify it when we sow a time bomb. ”, he wrote in another tweet.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Aníbal Torres, for his part, accused Congress of distorting the bill presented by the Executive to eliminate IGV in some foods. “When we received the autograph of the law, we noticed that Congress distorted the bill, by exonerating the fine loin, goose, pheasant, guinea fowl, imported meat, condensed milk, lasagna, ravioli, among others, which are not part of the basic basket of the population with limited resources,” Torres said.

According to Torres, the law would generate “a budget budget of 3.2 billion soles that will not allow basic services to be served, hospitals, schools, police stations, water and drainage projects, irrigation infrastructure, among others,” he said through his social networks.

“THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CRISIS LIES WITH THE EXECUTIVE”

Cavero, said at another time that Parliament has set aside an agenda of fundamental reforms by being forced to oversee the government of Pedro Castillo, which has had more than 50 ministers as far as management is concerned. In addition, he assured that the lack of popularity of Congress cannot be interpreted as a correspondent to the current crisis

“The responsibility for the crisis lies with the Executive. What Congress has done is put a brake on it,” he added.

The parliamentarian said that it was already coming that the “Government of Pedro Castillo was going to be a disaster”, that the president would not be able to open consensus and that he was not prepared to take office, so Avanza Pais decided to propose the vacancy from the beginning of the term.

“He was never ready, and my colleagues from Peru Libre told me, they never thought they were going to win the elections,” he emphasized.

He also stressed that he has never reported alleged electoral fraud. On the contrary, it only urged the authorities to investigate certain irregularities in the elections.

On the other hand, the parliamentarian of Avanza País, foresees that the institution of María del Carmen Alva does not have the votes to vacate Castillo Terrones. However, he did not rule out that if the crisis continues and the people put pressure on their representatives, the stage could be created to remove the ruler.

“The Castillo Government is unsustainable, it doesn't last five years and we have to find some way out. If we're going to an exit, we have to leave the house tidy. Castillo has to resign and what constitutionally is for the vice-president to take over”, he said.

If Castillo left, Cavero said he would be willing to give Dina Boluarte a chance, but always watching what her appointments would be in the PCM. Faced with the possibility of Castillo and Boluarte coming out of power, the congressman explained that the Legislature will have to decide whether it is necessary to cut the term, as was done in 2000 after the fall of Alberto Fujimori.
