A little less than two months before Colombians go to the polls to vote for Iván Duque's successor, a new report - which compiles the results of the latest polls - ensures that the presidential candidate of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro, remains the preferred one in voting intention.
This was announced by Caracol Radio and its Meta-Analysis report by Infometrika, which brings together the results of all the electoral studies that have been known in recent weeks. There, it is evident that Petro has a 35.7% chance of becoming the next president of Colombia.
The results of the media in question reflect that since January of this year the leader of Human Colombia has been one of the ones who has improved the most in terms of voting intention for the Presidency.
Petro, however, is not alone in the ranking. Behind him is the candidate of the Team for Colombia coalition, Federico 'Fico' Gutiérrez, who is rated 22.9%. Along these lines, the applicant's favorability improved after the results of the internal elections of March 13, when he was crowned official bishop of the center-right.
Moreover, it had a positive fluctuation from March 7 to April 4, where there is a greater result compared to previous months, when the Team's endorsement for Colombia was disputed with former teammates Enrique Peñalosa, David Barguil, Alex Char and Aydeé Lizarazo.
As the National Consulting Center, Guarumo and Invamer have shown, in third place in the intention to vote is the former mayor of Bucaramanga, Rodolfo Hernández, with an 11% preference, according to Caracol Radio.
In fourth place, as well as the aforementioned signatures ratified, is the presidential candidate of the Centro Esperanza Coalition, Sergio Fajardo, who was awarded 9.2% favorability in the elections that may define the next head of state.
In the last places are the candidates who have finished last in previous polls. The Green Oxygen party, Ingrid Betancourt with a scarce 2%, followed by the director of National Salvation Enrique Gomez (0.7%), Senator John Milton Rodriguez (1%) and the former mayor of Medellin, Luis Pérez, known as Lupe, who reached a reduced 0.3%.
The results of Caracol Radio coincide with those delivered by the National Consulting Center this week, which show that Gustavo Petro, from the Historical Pact, and Federico Gutiérrez, from Team for Colombia, would go on to the second presidential round in Colombia. The results show that the candidates would get the most votes on May 29, with 34% and 23% of the intention to vote, respectively.
In the list of results, Petro and Gutierrez are followed by Rodolfo Hernández, with 12% of the voting intention; Sergio Fajardo, with 9%; Ingrid Betancourt with 2% and John Milton Rodríguez with 1%.
The study was carried out by the National Center of Consultancy for the CM& News and consulted 1,965 citizens, from April 4 to this Thursday 7. The respondents live in one of the country's 32 departments, so they gave their answers via telephone.
In addition to asking about the intention to vote for the first round, this study also investigated who Colombians would vote for on the stage of the second round, which will be held on June 19.
