From Monday to Friday, fans of Esto es Guerra see the confrontation between warriors and combatants, but also the continuous exchanges of words that the hosts of the program, Johanna San Miguel and Maria Pia Copello. Both tend to defend their respective teams with claw, although the two assure that they get along well once the cameras are turned off.
The truth is that viewers enjoy the presence of female presenters on screen. However, Johanna, 54, and Maria Pia, 44, did not always see each other the same way, especially in their younger years. In this note they showed you their before and after the directors of the reality competition show, which this year celebrates 10 years on the air.
JOHANNA SAN MIGUEL
Before taking over the leadership of Esto es Guerra with Mathías Brivio in 2012, the national artist gained great popularity by giving life to Rebeca of Los Cebos, or Queca, in the series Pataclaun. Thanks to this series, his face became known on the small screen. After the program ended in 1999, he continued to wear a red nose at Carita de Atún.
Between 2006 and 2010, San Miguel hosted a block of shows of the morning news program Primera Edición on América Televisión. At that time, Johanna stood out for not having filters with her opinions and also because she was always accompanied by a pig stuffed animal. And the fact is that the actress was overweight, something she took with humor.
However, the presenter managed to lose more than 20 kilos and without the help of the scalpel. “I try not to eat fat. Such as fish, parboiled cassava, salads, fruits and protein shakes. And I do that not just to look good, but to maintain good health. I've lost more than 20 kilos. I now weigh 53 kilos,” he said in 2012.
Nowadays, San Miguel often turns on social media by posting bikini photographs, which captivate his followers by the spectacular figure he enjoys at the age of 50.
MARIA PIA COPELLO
He was only 23 years old when he took over the leadership of Karina and Timoteo to replace Karina Rivera, who retired due to her advanced state of pregnancy. The program was later renamed Maria Pia y Timoteo, where it was characterized by having an angelic face that brightened the mornings of thousands of Peruvian children.
Later, Copello hosted several programs such as Talento Urbano and 321 María Pia, although they did not overcome the success he had with Maria Pia and Timoteo. In 2006, she married Samuel Dyer Coriat, her boyfriend since 2001, with whom she has three children. At no time did she lose her slim figure, since the influencer is passionate about sports.
However, María Pia has been criticized on social networks for her way of dressing, as some Internet users consider that she wears very “youthful” clothes for her age. “Why are there people who still believe that there are rules for dressing? Please! Whether you are married, single, mom or grandmother, dress as you feel comfortable and happy,” she said in response to her detractors.
