This Monday, during his traditional morning conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador asked his team to play the song They will not impede it by Cuban singer-songwriter Amaury Pérez. Although the Mexican president feared that they would collect copyright, he chose to choose this melody not only to conclude his “morning” but also to start the week and continue fighting for the transformation of the country.
“It's to start the week and not stop fighting,” said the Tabasco president while holding his fist up.

On different occasions, Andrés Manuel López Obrador has musicalized different episodes of his political career with music from Latin American references and social protest, among which melodies by artists such as Resident of Calle 13, or his friend Silvio Rodríguez, however, this time it was Amaury Pérez's music that was chosen by the Mexican president to start the week in which he plans to hold the consultation of the Revocation of Mandate, which has generated controversy and great rejection by groups opposed to the Fourth Transformation.
Amaury Pérez is one of the most recognized personalities in Cuba. He was born on December 26, 1953 in Havana, and since the day of his christening he was a celebrity on the Caribbean island since the ceremony was the first televised baptism in all of Latin America. He is the son of one of the most iconic couples on Cuban television: Amaury Pérez García and Consuelito Vidal.

From a young age, his interest in the arts was reflected, because when he was just 10 years old he had already composed the anthem of his primary school, started in music self-taught and by 1968 he had learned to play the guitar. Also at his young age, he began to debut as an actor in children's programs of the Cuban revolution.
Amaury Pérez managed to define his musical style after meeting singer-songwriters such as Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, Sara González, Noel Nicola among others in 1971. In the same way, he also musicalized poems by Cuban authors such as José Martí, Nicolás Guillén or Miguel Hernández; in this way his composition was defined within the Nueva Trova genre.

Over the years, his talent has made him one of the most renowned artists in Cuba, as his popularity increased due to his new style of work, based on bringing the song, with a strong text, full of images and metaphors to the show. In addition to being the author and performer of his songs, he already ventures into scenographic scripts for his own concerts.
During his morning conference, Andrés Manuel López Obrador touched, among other issues, on the march that opposition groups called last Sunday, April 3 against the popular consultation on the Revocation of Mandate. However, as usual, he accused the country's opposition of wanting to curb his transformation project, arguing that the media has promoted a media campaign against him.

Despite this, during this week the president will carry out, through the National Electoral Institute (INE), the democratic exercise known as Revocation of the Mandate, which aims to enable Mexican citizens to decide whether or not they want Andrés Manuel López Obrador to conclude his six-year term as president of Mexico.
In this context, it is not surprising that the president has chosen a song that contains phrases such as “neither moralists nor the indiscreet charm of the bewitcher, nor absent millionaires, nor careerists, nor aspiring to the executioner's axe” or “they will not prevent it nor forbidden, nor convinced boyfriends, nor sorcerers, not they will prevent loneliness, despite autumn we will grow, we will grow” to musicalize their struggle to transform the country.
