The band El Recodo by Don Cruz Lizárraga returned to the Mexican stage with one of the most awaited promises by audiences that is faithful to the genre of the Mexican regional: to sing again with Julio Preciado. After delaying her tour for two years, finally last Friday, April 1, the Mother of All Bands opened her tour “This life is very beautiful” at the Telmex theater in Guadalajara.
Although the presentation covered all expectations from the oldest fan to the most recent, Luis Alfonso Lizárraga Lizárraga has given a twist to the news about them by mentioning that there is a great possibility of bringing the band's history to the small screen or even to a streaming platform, as others have already done celebrities such as Luis Miguel - Netflix - or Silvia Pinal - Televisa -, so even Julio Preciado would have his important participation in the project of which no great details were given.
“So we have a lot of material stored there, the truth and obviously thinking about being able to carry out this boiserie that then talks about history or what the band El Recodo by Don Cruz Lizárraga is,” he said to be interrupted by Preciado, who did not hesitate to joke about its representation on screen when he was still overweight: “To me it what makes me laugh about the bioseries is that they will remember me when I was fat and so not ha ha ha ha”, he told the cameras of Venga La Alegría.
If the project that the band performs hits such as La Mejor de Todas, Te Presumo or Yo Sé que Te Acordarás were completed, they would join the long list of Mexicans who have realized their dream of seeing the stories of their lives in television or streaming projects, such as Alejandra Guzmán, Juan Gabriel with “Until I Met You” (2016), Joan Sebastian for “Forever Joan Sebastian” (2016), Celia Cruz, Jenni Rivera, Paquita la del Barrio, Lupita D'Alessio, Selena Quintanilla and in the near future apparently Gloria Trevi and Yuri.
The last concert will be recorded in the hearts of band music fans, because after 25 years, Julio Preciado sang along with the band El Recodo by Don Cruz Lizárraga. The theater shone for their performance together, where they made them vibrate, sing, dance, but above all, they returned in time to those present with their majestic performance.
Julio took the opportunity to remember Don Cruz Lizárraga to whom he dedicated some moving words, he was accompanied by shouts and applause to start his presentation.
“Wherever he is, wherever he is, I think that Maestro Cruz Lizárraga must be very proud, to see that everything that he alone is here, because the El Recodo Band continues to bear fruit, and it remains the number one in Mexico even though it hurts many,” he said during the presentation.
It was in 1992 when Julio Preciado became the lead vocalist of Don Cruz Lizárraga's El Recodo Band, with whom he reaped his first successes before deciding to launch as a solo artist. During his tenure in the band el recodo he stood out for his voice and charisma, which earned him the nickname El Gigante de la Banda.
During this period of his artistic life, he participated in the recording of 14 albums, whose songs reached the top of the charts, making him known in Mexico and the United States. For many fans, the best period of the Banda el Recodo was when the good musicians chosen by Don Cruz Lizárraga and the singular voice of Julio Preciado were combined.
