State of Mexico: Three kidnappers were sentenced to more than 50 years in prison

Two of those sentenced operated for the same criminal gang, while the other individual was part of a different criminal group

Authorities from the State of Mexico sentenced two kidnappers operating in the entity to 50 years in prison, while one more received a 57-year sentence, who also carried out kidnappings in the demarcation.

Through statements, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) reported on the five-year sentences received by José “M”, and Ana “R”, both members of the same criminal gang, who were found guilty of the crimes of illegal deprivation of liberty and possession of firearms for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

According to the information provided by the prosecutor's office, the subjects were arrested at a home located in San Vicente Chicoloapan, State of Mexico, thanks to a joint operation carried out by agents of the Federal Public Ministry, the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM), and the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC).

The convicted were detained in possession of a long gun and a magazine, which were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry, which subsequently linked them to the trial and advocated their sentence.

“After the corresponding legal proceedings, the judge in the case handed down convictions against José “M” and Ana “R”, finding them criminally responsible for the crime of aggravated kidnapping (committed by a group of people, through violence) and the various of possession of firearms for the exclusive use of the Army, Navy and Air Force, for which they were sentenced to 50 years in prison,” the agency reported.

On the other hand, a man identified as Eduardo “C”, was sentenced to 57 years in prison for the crimes of kidnapping and organized crime, as the Public Ministry managed to verify his involvement in wrongdoing committed against various persons in the municipality of Nezahualcoyotl, State of Mexico.

Eduardo “C” was arrested in October 2013, in which year he was accused of kidnapping two people, as well as belonging to a criminal gang dedicated to this activity, so the prosecution began proceedings to prove his responsibility in the events.

Following the corresponding proceedings, Eduardo “C” was convicted for the crimes of organized crime (the purpose of committing crimes of kidnapping, without management functions) and kidnapping (in aggrievance of two victims), imposing (one) sentence of 57 years in prison at CEFERESO 14, “CPS- Durango” and eight thousand 250 days fine equivalent to 506,385 pesos”, the statement read.

Similarly, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported that a judge of the entity linked three subjects to trial for their alleged responsibility for the crime of kidnapping, since they are accused of having deprived their liberty a man who was found lifeless in Huixquilucan inside his vehicle April 10, 2021.

According to the Mexican prosecutor's office, the subjects reportedly intercepted their victim when he left his home located in the town of Santiago Yancuitlalpan, from where he was transferred to the Río Borracho site, on Zacamulpa Sur Avenue in Huixquilucan.

After finding the body, the Mexican authorities integrated the investigation folder corresponding to the case, which resulted in the location of the three subjects: “That is why J osé Omar “N”, Juan Carlos “N” and Julio César “N” were arrested and admitted to the Juan Fernández Albarrán Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center, in Tlalnepantla, where they were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority,” the agency reported.
