The month of March is tainted by the death of Taylor Hawkins in Colombia. The prodigal drummer of the band Foo Fighters lost his life at the age of 50 under little circumstances clear when he was hours away from giving a concert at the Estéreo Picnic 2022 festival. The first reports confirmed that his body was found in the hotel room where all the members of the group were staying. It was announced from Bogotá that medical personnel attended an emergency on the same day of the events to be able to control a heart attack, but that despite the maneuvers to keep him alive, they could not save him.

The international press has linked the incident to the use of narcotic substances, with the antecedent of an overdose that Hawkins suffered in 2001 and which he remembered when he gave an interview to Kerrang magazine for the 2019 publication.

“I was partying in London one night, and by mistake I did something and it changed everything. I believed in the crappy myth of living hard and fast, dying young. I'm not here to preach about not using drugs, because I loved doing it, but I got out of control for a while and it almost got me. I was heading down a path that was going to lead to even worse roads.”

Although it is unknown whether he was currently related to a drug relapse, in that conversation he mentioned that he was grateful for what happened, as it allowed him to realize several things that were going on in his life and that he obviously had to change.

“I'm glad he hit me on the head at that time. Nor would I take away anything that I have done or experienced, because it is all part of the trip. I'm trying to be as honest as possible. I'm going mountain biking now.”
