Mexico City, 19 Mar For Mexican actor Daniel Elbittar, television is currently experiencing a very fruitful moment of diversity and production. Proof of this is his most recent work in telenovelas with which he has found that, in particular, broadcast television has regained its strength. “There is an audience for everything. I do feel that broadcast television is returning with the same force as it did before, but I think the cake was divided a little so that people consume in different ways,” he says in an interview with Efe. This momentum that he considers television has, he sees it specifically in melodramas and is something he celebrates from his own career, because after a long journey in the industry, he debuted on Televisa with “La desalmada”, a story in which he shared credits with Livia Brito and José Ron who currently lives broadcasts outside the country in Spain and Colombia. “I was lucky enough to enter a successful project and that opened up a range of opportunities for me within the company. For me, that project meant the realization of something I had dreamed of, which was to work in a company like this,” he says. Thanks to his performance as César Franco in that production, Elbittar won a leading character in “La herencia”, another melodrama in which he will share credits with Michel Renaud and Matías Novoa, which he premieres on March 28 through the Televisa channel Las Estrellas. A NICE AND CHARMING VILLAIN Daniel will give life to Pedro del Monte, a man who bears a grudge against his brother, with whom he will compete for the love of Sara (Renaud), the only blood daughter of his adoptive father, who after his death will end up jeopardizing the inheritance that Del Monte's five adopted children expected. “Pedro is dark, but he is also a womanizer, charismatic, charming and what he is going to do, he will do it underwater,” he says. Elbittar fell in love with the character who forced him to bring a lot of drama and darkness to the soap opera, which he says also has moments of humor and comedy, although these are not orchestrated by him. Something that spurred him to give life to Pedro was that he was a character that was nothing like what he had done before in his career, and above all, that he was very different from his character in “La desalmada”. “César was a character with a very strong burden of pain because his wife and son were killed and he had taken vengeance again, on the other hand Pedro del Monte rather has everything in life, he is a millionaire, a womanizer, charming, he is ironic, too ambitious, he has always jealous Juan who is his only blood brother. Caesar was humble and simple. They have been two totally different worlds,” he says. TASTE OF MEXICO Another of the virtues of the project that Elbittar highlights is that it will show an interesting side of Mexico's traditions and places, since the story takes place in Uruapan, in the western state of Michoacán, known as “the Avocado Capital of the World”, which will also be portrayed in the plot, as well as in the State of Mexico in cities like Toluca. Finally, Daniel - who will become a father for the second time this year - says that he is working on personal projects that include audiovisual production. “I have plans to do good projects, I opened a production house and I have already done the pilot of a series called 'Not so raro' and I hope that by finishing this novel this project will consolidate”, he said.
