After youtuber Chumel Torres and Andrea Chavez Treviño, a deputy of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), had an indirect confrontation via social media, feminist activist Estefanía Veloz joined the legislator and called the influencer” misogynistic”.
Through her official Twitter account, the former member of the cherry party wrote: “Chumel is an indefensible and misogynistic bully who messes with people's private lives instead of debating ideas. I say that I did NOT support Salgado Macedonio.”
The activist's statements came after the confrontation between the driver of the Pulse de la República and Chavez Treviño. It all started when the legislator wrote on that social network: “In the name of Chihuahua, sorry for Chumel.”
Faced with this, the influencer did not remain silent and launched himself against the Morenista, reacting to a publication in which Chávez Treviño announced that deputies of the party will promote actions to impeach the president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Lorenzo Córdova, and Ciro Murayama for alleged abuses of freedom of expression.
“An apology for Andrea Chavez. Not all Chihuahuans like to murder democracy for a bone,” said Chumel Torres.
However, it was not the only comment that the youtuber shared against the morenista. In another post, Torres shared a video showing Andrea Chavez at a rally for Félix Salgado Macedonio, who intended to participate in the Guerrero government elections on the side of the cherry party, however, his campaign was denied due to allegations of sexual violence against him.
“Well, what can you expect from someone who came to support Salgado Macedonio? Again, sorry folks,” added Torres.
In the audiovisual material Andrea Chávez is heard saying: “In Guerrero there are many pains and they don't want them to be resolved from the INE. The councillors who build their party, let them go now.”
It is worth mentioning that it was in 2021 when Estefanía Veloz decided to leave his membership in Morena due to the support that members of the cherry party and the self-described Fourth Transformation (Q4) will be in favor of Salgado Macedonio's candidacy, despite the allegations against him.
“For the first time in Mexico's modern history, things seemed to start to have a better outlook for those below, however, in 2021, and in the face of a historic electoral process in which thousands of public officials are in dispute, the possibility of continuing the country's fourth transformation is in questioned. And the fact is that the candidacy of Félix Salgado Macedonio, accused of rape and sexual harassment by several women, totally contradicts the struggle that gave rise to MORENA in more ways than one”, read in the statement released by Veloz about his resignation from the cherry party.
On the other hand, the youtuber has been in the sights of Morena's supporters following the denunciation of Juarez Senator Bertha Caraveo, who reported on March 14 that the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) opened an investigation kit against the influencer for the crime of political gender violence.
After the news broke, the host of the Pulse de la República said that he is not sad or worried, since he is not the “only head” of the program that is broadcast on YouTube.
