However, they are not the only ones being investigated, since it was known that a total of 26 people are under the magnifying glass of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The list of accused also includes the Nobel Prize for Literature Mario Vargas Llosa, as well as opposition leader Keiko Fujimori. It is worth mentioning that all the complainants at the time refused to acknowledge the results of the 2021 General Elections, in which Pedro Castillo was elected as president of Peru.
In the case of Alejandra Baigorria, after the second round of elections, when ONPE announced that the candidate from Peru Libre was in the first place, she used her Instagram account to encourage her followers to ignore the results, in addition to asking for the intervention of the Armed Forces.

According to the Penal Code, the crime of sedition and conspiracy for rebellion, sedition or mutiny are regulated in Title XVI named: Crimes against the powers of the State and the constitutional order.
“Anyone who, without ignoring the legally constituted government, takes up arms to prevent the authority from exercising its functions freely or to avoid compliance with laws or resolutions or to prevent general, parliamentary, regional or local elections, shall be punished with imprisonment of not less than five or more than ten years”.
“Anyone who takes part in a conspiracy of two or more persons to commit crimes of rebellion, sedition or mutiny, shall be punished with imprisonment not more than half the maximum of that indicated for the crime he was trying to perpetrate.”
