Madrid, 17 Mar Cervantes Institute, with the approval of the Board of Directors, plans to open its first expansion in India in the city of Bangalore, which will begin to teach Spanish early next year and will depend on the center of New Delhi. Bangalore, located in southern India and in the capital of the state of Karnataka, has numerous technology companies and research and educational institutions. It is also the headquarters of the Indian Aerospace Program and the Kannada Film Industry (official for the state). With more than 8 million inhabitants, Cervantes emphasizes that it is considered the “Silicon Valley” of the country. The technological, economic, educational and demographic potential of Bangalore (the fourth most populous city after Bombay, Delhi and Calcutta), according to Instituto Cervantes, makes it an ideal place to open the first expansion of educational institutions in India. There is a high demand for learning Spanish. The expected high demand for Spanish classes from January 2023 in the future expansion of Bangalore is based on data provided by Cervantes in New Delhi, the school with the highest number of students per year. Opened in 2009, it exceeded 6,000 registrations over other centers of organizations worldwide last year. In the coming months, Instituto Cervantes will carry out the necessary work to create eight classrooms and other units (reception, teacher's room, etc.) by renting a headquarters in Bangalore. The feasibility study explained in a statement that it is possible to achieve or even exceed 100% self-financing from the third year of educational activities.
