The head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, responded to the accusations against him that have arisen following the suspension of Sandra Cuevas as mayor of Cuauhtémoc.

During the press conference she gave this Tuesday, March 15, the president indicated that the situation is a “judicial issue”, and therefore denied that there are political issues behind the action of the Attorney General of Justice of Mexico City (FGJCDMX).

Likewise, the former delegate of Tlalpan recalled that the complaint was filed by two police officers, following the experience they had in the demarcation facilities.

“It's false, absolutely false. You know what happened to the mayor and the police. From there they file a complaint and today it is in the hands of justice. We do not determine the action of a judge or a judge, so what I answer is that it is in the hands of justice is not an issue that has to do with a political issue far from it. It is a judicial issue and it is being defined there and it has to continue to be defined there,” he said.

Faced with constant questions about the statements of politicians and opinion sectors, as well as those of Cuevas herself, the capital's head of government indicated that she is free to speak her mind; however, she stressed that it is a judicial issue.

Finally, he said that the whole issue will remain in the hands of justice, since for Sheinbaum it is not an individual issue, neither personal nor political, “it is essentially a judicial issue.”

In addition, he assured that there will be no changes in the dynamics with the demarcation, since work will continue in the same way with the person in charge of the Cuauhtémoc office, so until the suspension lasts, it will be through this figure that the work will be coordinated.

Finally, he pointed out that the decision taken after the mayor's second hearing will be pending; however, he explained that the city's Constitution establishes what should be done in the event of the total absence of Cuevas - or any other mayor - at the head of the demarcation.

Last Monday, it emerged that the mayor of Cuauhtémoc will be suspended from office until next Thursday, March 17, as was determined at the first hearing, after being accused by two police officers for alleged attacks against her.

Through its social networks, the capital's prosecutor's office notified that four public servants and servants of the demarcation, including the owner, were charged with possible participation in the crimes of theft, abuse of authority and discrimination.

Despite the fact that the judge accepted the charges against her for these three crimes mentioned above, she dropped the charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty, determining that there is insufficient evidence for them to be prosecuted for that purpose.
