After the violent incidents that resulted in the veto of the La Corregidora stadium, Queretaro will play on Thursday at home in Morelia for the eleventh day of the Clausura-2022 tournament against Atlético de San Luis, reported the Liga MX (Mexican first division).
“The Querétaro match against Atlético de San Luis will be played at the Morelos stadium in the city of Morelia, Michoacán,” Liga MX announced on Monday in a statement.
“The meeting will take place behind closed doors, following the disciplinary sanction imposed on Club Querétaro.”
Last Tuesday, one of the sanctions that Liga MX imposed on the 'White Roosters' of Querétaro was to play their home matches at the La Corregidora stadium - their usual venue - or on any other court, without fans, for a year.
If you choose to play in La Corregidora, you would have to set up a security fence three kilometers around the stadium.
In view of the fact that Queretaro and Atlético de San Luis have a rivalry known as the 'Classic of the 57' - due to the number of the highway linking the cities of Querétaro and San Luis Potosí - which has a history of violence among their followers, it was decided to take this match to the Morelos stadium.
Between La Corregidora Stadium and Morelos Stadium there is a distance of 195.8 kilometers by road.

Also, on Monday, Liga MX reported that the nine matches of matchday 10, held on the weekend, “went without incident after the strengthening of security operations”.
“A total of 7,704 public and private security elements and 271 Civil Protection elements - emphasized the Liga MX - preserved order during the nine matches”, among which there were two great rivalry: Cruz Azul against Pumas at the Azteca stadium and the national classic Guadalajara-America that was guarded by 1,600 troops at the Akron Stadium, in Guadalajara.
The last date attracted a total of 123,832 fans, equivalent to 37.07% of the allowed capacity of the stadiums used.
The nine matches of the day were paused in the 62nd minute so that the players of both teams would embrace each other in a circle on the half court, and also on the benches, as a message of peace.
It was precisely in the 62nd minute that the match Queretaro against Atlas, from matchday 9, was suspended due to the overflow of violence from the tribune to the court at La Corregidora stadium, which left 26 injured.
