Indeci, for its part, reported that “the rapid intervention group for #Emergencias and #INDECI disasters, led by Minister @MindefPeru and our institutional head, @CarloeYanez, are going to the emergency area in the district of Parcoy, #Pataz province, La Libertad region, to coordinate response and aid actions immediate to those affected by slippage, as provided by @presidenciaperu”

“Likewise, #USAR search and rescue specialists from the @bomberosPE join this first response team,” they say.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister José Gavidia stressed that he is already on his way to Pataz, in the town of Retamas, Parcoy district (La Libertad) to respond to the emergency in the face of the slide of a hill slope. We will provide all necessary assistance to the affected families.”

Upon learning about the landslide of Cerro Retamas in Pataz in the region of La Libertad, the commissioner of the Peruvian National Police of that locality, said that so far seven missing persons have been registered, including 4 minors.

He also said that a concessionaire is supporting them with tractors and heavy machinery to remove the debris, but that the support of the authorities is needed, since the situation is delicate and the soil is very weak.
