On Wednesday, Augsburg and Leipzig were held to a 1-1 draw at the WWK Arena. Both Augsburg and Leipzig arrived on the back of wins. Augsburg were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Leipzig were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-1 win against B Mönchengladbach in their last match. Following today's result, Augsburg are in 16th place on the table and has 17 points while Leipzig sit in 9th with 22 points after 16 matches.

It was an impressive opening from The Red Bulls, with Andre Silva giving Leipzig the lead at the 19 minute mark to see out the first half 0-1.

Augsburg took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Daniel Caligiuri just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Augsburg, Arne Maier, Mads Pedersen, Sergio Cordova, Daniel Caligiuri and Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, came on for Ruben Vargas, Jan Moravek, Fredrik Jensen, Michael Gregoritsch and Andre Hahn. Leipzig brought on Nordi Mukiele, Tyler Adams, Dominik Szoboszlai and Brian Brobbey, to replace Mohamed Simakan, Konrad Laimer, Emil Forsberg and Andre Silva.

The referee booked Niklas Dorsch and Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee for Augsburg.

Augsburg will next play Greuther Fürth away, with Leipzig facing Arminia Bielefeld at home.
