Canada Hosts PyeongChang 2018 Media Summit -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) Canadian athletes seeking to improve on the country’s fourth place finish at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics will speak to media this week about their preparations for their next chance at Olympic glory.

The Canadian Olympic Committee will host the Team Canada Media Summit June 3-4 in Calgary, Alberta. The two-day summit is organized in conjunction with Olympic Lab, a COC project that helps prepare its athletes for the Olympics.

The COC will make more than 75 of Canada’s Olympians and Paralympians available for short interviews and photo opportunities about their challenges and hopes while preparing for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Games.

The summit will be held at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre. The PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics will take place from Feb. 9-25.

Second Sport Innovation Summit of 2017

There are more than 25 speakers on tap to speak at the Sport Innovation Summit in Paris, France on June 6 and 7.

The SiS will be the second held in 2017 following a successful event in Mexico in February that was hailed as the largest innovation and networking sports conference of Latin America.

The speakers will touch on topics including fan engagement, fan experience, media and broadcasting, sports performance, innovation at the core of events and the storytelling ability of sports.

International experts in these areas will have a platform to network and share ideas that are helping to shape the sports and media industry of the future.

Representatives of Paris 2024, Manchester United, San Francisco 49ers, Facebook, FIBA, Cornell University, IPC, FC Barcelona, and European Commission will be among the more than 600 participants of the two-day summit.

The summit will be held at the Paris Centre Marceau auditorium.

ISCC Offers Networking Opportunities

New York City and Washington, D.C. will host two networking events for the International Sports Chamber of Commerce on June 7 and 9, respectively.

The mission of the networking sessions are to "help businesses and individuals grow and make new connections," according to the ISCC. "Simply our goal is to help you grow your revenues."

The June 7 networking seminar in New York City is the first of four being held in the city this year. The seminars are three to four hours long with about two hours of networking time before and after the seminars.

The seminars include leaders from sports agencies, brands, service providers, suppliers, rights holders and more. The New York City seminar focuses on digital and social media in sports while the seminar in the U.S. capital will highlight best sports business networking practices.

The ISCC is based in the Olympic capital of Lausanne, Switzerland and "provides a professional environment for sports business people and organizations".
