The Estonian Football Association (EJL) today put pen to paper on a three and a half year deal that will see Sportradar collect and distribute the data from a whole range of Estonian football matches (under its Sportradar Rights Holder Solutions business) and monitor the global betting patterns on those same matches (under its Sportradar Security Services business).
This bumper deal means that for the remainder of the current season and for the next three full seasons, Sportradar will be the "Official Sports Data Partner of the Estonian Football Association" and will also use its Fraud Detection System to monitor all of the home matches of all the Estonian national teams (including men’s, women’s and age group levels); the first, second and third tier of the men’s national divisions; the top women’s division; as well as the Estonian Cup and Supercup.
Discussing the deal, EJL CEO Tonu Sirel said: "We have worked with Sportradar since 2012 and have grown to admire their capabilities and trust their support. When the time came to put in place a data partnership, there was really only one option. We are excited to see Sportradar promote our nation’s football worldwide and we used this opportunity to also extend our integrity relationship. Their reputation in this field is second to none and so we remain confident that their watchful eye will keep those who would undermine our players and matches well away".
Sportradar’s Managing Director Data & Licensing Dr Johannes Ranke had this to add: "Europe remains a fertile ground for both our Rights Holder Solutions and Security Services, but the level of trust and enthusiasm we have seen from our friends in Estonia really is remarkable. Their commitment to the integrity of all their football competitions is steadfast and unwavering. But adding the data partnership component is a mark of their trust in us and our business. They are a progressive football federation, who are looking to showcase the excitement of their country’s football as far and as wide as possible. I am glad that they see us as the perfect partner to help them build that profile and following."
