Visa and USOC Partner for Fundraiser

Visa and the USOC hope to raise $2 million in private donations through its “America Supports Team USA” campaign.

Visa will donate up to $500,000 to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams -- $1 for every dollar spent by Americans by July 4.

“Our research tells us again and again that Americans really care about the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams and want to support them,” USOC Acting CEO Stephanie Streeter said.

“Every donation counts and can make a big difference in the lives of our Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls.”

BMW Group Backs Munich’s 2018 Bid

The BMW Group will back Munich’s bid to host the 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

One of the world’s ten largest automotive makers, the BMW Group will provide $4 million to $7 million to the application phase, including vehicles.

“BMW has given the bid for the 2018 Winter Games a significant boost,” Richard Admda, Managing Director of the Munich 2018 bid committee.

“BMW is an international company with Bavarian roots and a reputation built on performance, strength, tradition and future orientation, as well as a commitment to achieving the highest standards. BMW and the Munich 2018 bid are a natural combination.”

New Sponsor for Phelps

The 16-time Olympic medalist will be featured on the company’s advertisements, packaging, online campaign, and retail displays.

FITA Partners with Clothing Maker

The International Archery Federation (FITA) has partnered with TOXOFIL, maker of archers-designed technical clothing.

Some TOXOFIL products will become “Official archery wear” through the agreement.

“We think that archers from around the world will be glad to wear high quality clothing officially recognized by FITA,” President of TOXOFIL Francis Letourneau said.

“We will allow them to abide by the rules while presenting themselves in a way that will enhance the overall image of archery.”

The Canadian company will offer the clothes through its website and authorized dealers.

Singapore 2010 Gets Fitness Equipment Sponsor

Technogym has become the “Official Fitness Equipment Sponsor” for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

“With their experiences in equipping gyms for the Olympics Games, Technogym will be able to anticipate and cater to athletes’ and coaches’ requirements during the competition period,” CEO of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee Goh Kee Nguan said.
