Winterberg (RWH) A first victory for the defending champion: skeleton slider Shelley Rudman of Great Britain, who came first in the overall World Cup rankings last season, has celebrated her first victory of the season in the fourth race of the Viessmann FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Cup Tour 2012/2013 in Winterberg (GER). The 2009 and 2011 European Champion came in a clear 0.99 seconds ahead of Anja Huber of Germany, the 2009 World Champion. Huber was followed over the finish line by 2007 World Champion Noelle Pikus-Pace of the USA (1,10 seconds back), whose third place took her onto the podium for the first time in her comeback season, a fitting early birthday present the day before her 30th birthday. Pikus-Pace also celebrated her first ever World Cup victory on the Winterberg Hochsauerland track in December 2004.

Elena Nikitina of Russia came in tenth in her Viessmann FIBT World Cup debut race. After the fourth of nine races, Marion Thees (GER, 761) is still in the lead followed by Elizabeth Yarnold (GBR, 754), fourth in Winterberg, and Canada’s Sarah Reid (747) The complete list of results showing all race times, overall times, and the current world cup rankings can be found at www.fibt.com.
