Wheelchair racers compete for 2016 Paralympics spot

American athletes racing in the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon tovie for selection to Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games --Top male and female wheelchair racers will be one step closer to securinga spot on the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced it will host the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team Trials Marathon on the streets of Chicago on Sunday, October 11. America’s top athletes will race in the event’s professional elite wheelchair field to secure one of four spots on the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team.

AISTS SEMOS - Sports Event Management and Organisation Seminar

Rio 2016 Paralympic Games

As part of the milestone of one year for the Paralympic Games, Rio 2016 Committee will promote the Paralympic Festival, on September 6th and 7th. . Over two days, a series of activities directed towards the family, involving sport, education and culture, will animate Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, in the South Zone district of Rio de Janeiro Art workshops, photo exhibit, film and dance performances are part of the program, which also includes sports experimentations and challenges with the participation of Paralympic athletes. The Festival kicks off the Paralympic Games Ticketing programme. Brazilians can request their tickets from the 7th, and the cheapest ticket will cost R$ 10. 3.3 million tickets for the 23 sports competitions are available. Two million tickets costing R$ 30 and less.

Media accreditation opens for AIBA World Boxing Championships Doha 2015

31 August 2015, Lausanne – Doha 2015 Local Organising Committee is pleased to announce the opening of the media accreditation for the AIBA World Boxing Championship, which will be held from 5 until 15 October 2015 in Doha, Qatar. World Boxing Championships are an elite boxing event for the world’s 220 boxers from 40 countries, who will compete for the ultimate boxing glory – the title of the World Champion. The event will also have 23 quota places to Rio 2016 Olympic Games up for grabs in ten weight categories.The registration process for media accreditation is for rights-holding broadcasters, non-rights-holding broadcasters, as well as written and photographic press.

2017 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship Bids Invited

The International Sailing Federation is now inviting all Member National Authorities to bid for the 2017 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship.The ISAF Women's Match Racing Worlds has been held every year since 1999 with the most recent event in 2015 being hosted in Middelfart, Denmark this July. Sixteen of the top women's match racers are taking part, including the top 9 ranked sailors.Bids must be received by the ISAF Secretariat and must include confirmation of support for the bid from the relevant Member National Authority. Bids will be reviewed by ISAF and a decision announced in November 2015.

2017 Beach Volleyball World Championships bidding process extended

International Fencing Federation Opens Bidding for Next Olympic Cycle

A call for biddings has been launched on the 22nd of June for the following championships:

- JC world championships 2017

- JC world championships 2018

- Senior world championships 2018

It's a busy time at the International Fencing Federation, where, at the eve of the World Fencing Championships, two calls for bidding are being launched. The first concerns the official competition calendar of the new Olympic cycle after Rio (2016-2020)...NF have one month time to send their applications (till the 31st of July). After the screening of the applications received, the final proposal will be debated by the FIE Executive Committee in September. Clickherefor more information.

2017 Women's Rugby World Championships

Just months after a record-breaking Women’s Rugby World Cup in France, the tender process has now opened to host the event in 2017.

The tournament, which was won by England after a thrilling final in Paris last August, will move to 2017 to maximise synergy with the Olympic and Rugby World Cup Sevens cycles, allowing the world’s best female players to compete on rugby’s biggest stages. The event will return to a four-year cycle after 2017.

The tender process was ratified by World Rugby Council at its meeting in London last week.
