WISE: The International Convention for Careers in Sport

The inaugural International Convention for Career Development in Sport will take place May 7-8, 2014 in Lausanne.

The conference, titled "WISE-Work in Sports Exhibition," will take place at the House of International Sport in Lausanne.

WISE has released its program for the inaugural conference, with panels in the following topics:"Continuing Education," "Human Resources," "Excellence in Reconversion," "Governance in Sports," "Communication," and more.

The program also features many workshops and roundtable discussions aimed at promoting working in sport. The full list of participants in the conference program can be found here.

WISE announced partnerships with AISTS, CIES, Carrard & Associés, Rio 2016 OCOG, and the World Taekwondo Federation for the conference.

Two gala nights will be organized by the conference. On the night of May 6, an opening gala will be organized byInternational Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) under the theme of"The Heritage of Big Sports Events."

On May 7, the "Wednesday WISE Fever" awards show will be hosted by IOC sports director Christophe Dubi, who will give remarks on the IOC’s "support to the athletes in career transition."

Around the Ringsis one of a select number of media partners for the conference.

"Career development for athletes is critical, and we're very pleased to be a part of this groundbreaking event," Sheila Hula, publisher of Around the Rings,said of the partnership.

IWG World Conference on Women and Sport

Registration for the 6th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport has opened.

The conference will take place on June 12-15 in Helsinki, Finland.

There will be a reduced registration fee for those that register before April 1.

The conference theme will be "Lead the Change, Be the Change." More information will be available as it is announced.
