(ATR) The Bank of China is the first sponsor to lend its support to both a Summer and Winter Olympics in the same city.

Bank of China penned the deal with the Beijing 2022 Winter Games on July 13, also becoming the organizing committee’s first Official Partner. The sponsorship deal opens up the marketing program for Beijing 2022.

"Marketing program is an important guarantee for the Winter Olympic Games, and provides wide platform for the participating enterprises to speed up brand promotion and strengthen competitive advantage," Beijing 2022 executive president Chen Jining said, according to Xinhua.

The bank is retaining its "official banking partner" title for Beijing 2022 that it held at the Beijing 2008 Games. Bank of China will provide commercial banking, investment banking services and financial products to the OCOG, China Olympic Committee and Chinese delegation at the Games.

"Bank of China will provide the highest international standard, the most comprehensive and reliable Winter Olympic Games financial services and supporting measures in order to promote national fitness and winter sports," said Bank of China president Tian Guoli.

The rights package offered by Beijing 2022 includes marketing rights, hospitality rights, rights of products and services.

Beijing 2022 will now actively seek to bolster its sponsorship profile with more official partners, official sponsors, official exclusive suppliers and official suppliers.
