Seoul, April 26- Naver joins the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 Sponsorship program to help make the Games successful.
The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG, President Yang-ho Cho) announced today that it has signed an "Official Internet Portal Sponsor" agreement with Naver Corporation – developer of the nation’s largest search engine and portal website naver.com – at POCOG’s office in Seoul. POCOG President Yang-ho Cho and Naver CEO Sanghun Kim signed the document.
Under the agreement, Naver will support the Games through its various resources including web search engine services and display advertisement services. In return, POCOG will grant various marketing rights including the use of the intellectual properties and marketing partner recognition program.
POCOG President Yang-ho Cho said, "Engaging the participation and boosting the passion of the Korean public will be a key factor in determining success of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Games information can be distributed more accurately and quickly with the support of Naver, and help us draw more public attention.
Naver CEO Sanghun Kim replied, "Based on our know-how accumulated from servicing the various sporting events, Naver will give full support using all resources to make the PyeongChang 2018 Games a magnificent success."
About the PyeongChang 2018 Sponsorship Programme: The PyeongChang 2018 sponsor programme is divided into five separate categories, with the Worldwide Olympic Partner (TOP) programme constituting the very highest level of Olympic sponsorship. The Worldwide TOP Partners who support the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 are Coca-Cola, Atos, Bridgestone, Dow, GE, McDonalds, Omega, Panasonic, Procter and Gamble, Samsung, Toyota and Visa.
The four remaining categories are designated for domestic sponsors. The highest domestic tier comprises Official Partners, the second tier consists of Official Sponsors, the third tier is made of Official Suppliers, and the fourth tier Official Supporters. Sponsors will be invaluable partners for the successful delivery of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and also partners of the Korean national Olympic and Paralympic teams. Accordingly, they will be given the rights to use Olympic and Paralympic designations and imagery including emblems, mascots and slogans. In collaboration with all sponsors who take part in the Marketing Programme, POCOG will work to open new horizons for winter sports and the Olympic Movement in Korea, Asia and around the world.
