Last weekend the Guatapé community and social media users were outraged by the video that went viral on digital platforms. The clip shows two young people physically assaulting an older adult.
In the midst of laughter, as if it were a game, the young men pushed the man until he left him on the floor. According to some versions on the complaint pages of Antioquia, the elderly “suffer from epileptic seizures and have a special condition”.
The event aroused the rejection and indignation of the community, which asked the competent authorities to take action in the matter.
One of the perpetrators appeared and apologized
After the stir caused by this event, one of the young men who pushed the man appeared on video apologizing. In addition, he assured that he had already presented himself to the authorities.
José Miguel, as identified in the clip that was also shared through social networks, said that he has already spoken with the victim of the assault and his family.
“Hello, I am José Miguel, one of the people responsible for the events that occurred last Sunday in Guatapé. I publicly apologize for the events that occurred,” the young man said in the video.
Likewise, he assured that he was responsible for the events that occurred in Guatape the previous weekend.
Despite public apologies, social networks continue to demand that this behavior be punished. According to some Internet users, only in this way will it be possible to prevent situations of this type, where a person's rights are violated, from occurring again.
“I think he is a dangerous criminal, well that asking for forgiveness but being locked up for a while can protect society from another assassination attempt as they did to that poor man”, and “I hope his apologies are sincere, it shows that his parents did not teach him to respect and if they taught him he did not learn... hopefully all this will serve you to have humility and respect for others you will not be young and healthy all your life”, are other comments by people on social networks outraged by the fact.
