During his current stay in Mexico, Rob Schneider went out of his way in flattery to Vadhir and Eugenio Derbez, who he said he was sure that they are among the most talented actors internationally.
American actor Rob Schneider is in Mexico to shoot his next film, Love is Love, which will be produced and directed by him, while it was written by his wife, Patricia Maya, born in Nuevo Leon.
In a short encounter with Ventaneando's microphone, the Hollywood history dedicated a few words to Mexico City, because he said he liked it very much, even assured that Maya is chilanga.
“Yes in Mexico (I'm working), fantastic. (...) I love everything very much, Mexico City is amazing, my wife is chilanga. Yes, from Monterrey, yes, yes. Patricia is chilanga, it's incredible, she wrote the script,” he said.
In the midst of his flattery for the Mexican capital, he referred to Eugenio Derbez and Vadhir - who will be the protagonist of Amor es Amor - as great actors internationally. In fact, he assured that Silvana Prince's son will become one of the best histrions.
On the other hand, he gave his opinion about the controversy that occurred during the 2022 Oscar Awards, when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. According to the Animal protagonist, Jada Pinkett's husband's behavior is due to a mental problem.
Love is Love, Paramount+ original film, starring Vadhir Derbez, is a romantic comedy set in the 90s. It will tell the story of Enrique, who is a soap opera actor and is about to sign a contract with a television station, when the company's president, Julián (played by Rob Schneider), finds photos of the actor and his partner, Marcelo.
When it was confirmed in December 2021 that Rob would be the one who would direct and produce the film in Mexico, he assured that this country is his second home, so he couldn't be happier to work here.
The film is expected to be released this year through the streaming platform.
Vadhir made his debut in American cinema with the film How to Be a Latin Lover, and one of his latest greatest achievements was having starred in Exorcism on the Seventh Day, in Hollywood.
As the actor commented, getting to US screens has not been easy, because on many occasions he has been criticized for obtaining important characters thanks to his surname.
For his part, Eugenio Derbez is currently dedicated to American cinema from the business side with his production company, 3Pas Studios, but also as an actor.
One of his greatest and latest achievements has been part of CODA, a film that was acclaimed at the different awards of the film industry worldwide. Only at the 2022 Oscar Awards he won the awards for Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor.
