Rubén Albarrán responded to AMLO's invitation to dialogue: “You will hear the voice of the heart of the earth”

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, reported during one of his most recent press conferences that he seeks to establish a dialogue with environmentalists and scientists who launched themselves against the Maya Train.

During the commemoration of International Water Day 2022, a video appeared on social media of actors, musicians, artists and activists who expressed their concerns about the modification of section 5 of the Maya Train, which runs from Tulum to Cancun.

For his part, Rubén Albarrán informed through social networks that, if his presence is required in the area of events, then he will be available on section 5 of the Mayan Train.

Andrés Manuel's first reaction was to say that someone had paid them to release that message, in addition to referring to them as pseudo environmentalists, and even told them conservatives, even fifis.

But the president recalled, and in addition to assuring that no one paid the protagonists of the video, he said that it is a reflection of misinformation on the part of the signatories of the message, whom he called to dialogue on the subject.

So far, the vast majority of artists responded to their invitation, assuring that it should be in the area of section 5 and not in the National Palace, and that the environmental experts behind the message must be present.

It was Rubén Albarran, singer of Café Tacvba, Hoppo! and others who recently referred to the issue through their social networks, where in addition to thanking the president, assured that it will be presented if required by the government.

However, he made it clear that it is not he who should be summoned, let alone his fellow artists, because the scientific community, experts in ecology and environment, activists for human rights, land and animal rights should be convinced.

He added, in this context, that both he and his fellow artists, only amplified their voices through the video that was published and made viral on social networks.

“We trust that you will hear the voice of the heart of the earth and that of disinterested scientific reason,” added the singer of Café Tacvba.

In addition to thanking the president's gesture, he insisted that his thinking is that there will be no bad faith on the part of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and that after the dialogue, “economic and development interests will be subordinate to the greater good and collective intelligence”.

He added, then, that he will go if he is accompanied by the representatives of Semarnat, with the applicants for the protection that stopped the construction of section 5, with the signatories of the campaign “Sélvame del Tren Maya”, among other experts, citizens and artists.

On the other hand, the president of Mexico once again responded to the invitation of celebrities to dialogue on section 5 of the Maya Train, and assured that if so, he will send a representative to the area.

At the same time, he mentioned that he would send a letter to the inhabitants of the ejido in the area of stretch five “to see if they want to represent me”, because he cannot go to the area for two reasons:

Firstly, because he assured that the public figures who today speak out against the Mayan Train “have a political purpose” and warned that “I am not going to play the game for them”, in addition to assuring that being the representative of the presidential inauguration “you cannot expose yourself”.
