The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) has been one of the most controversial megaprojects of the Andrés Manuel López Obrador administration (AMLO), as some irregularities such as location, overpricing, poor connectivity and even its little use have been pointed out.
For this reason, different opposition figures, since before the inauguration of the facilities on March 21, demonstrated against the construction and argued that Texcoco airport, which was already in progress, was the right choice for the country.

In spite of everything, AIFA began operations, although every day it shows a new lack, and this time they reported that there were no registered flights throughout 20 April.
A photograph of an alleged screen inside these facilities began to circulate through social networks, which showed the message “There are no flights registered for today”, so different users began to question it.

Brozo, a character created by communicator Víctor Trujillo, appeared to mock this image and point out that the federal government soon celebrates that AIFA is the safest in the world due to its limited presence of people.
“With this fast-paced pace, they soon boast that #AIFA is the safest agriport in the world. Pos yes”, commented the clown television host.
Another strong critic of Q4 who also ironically took this photo was influencer Chumel Torres, who asked an acid question to point out the absence of passengers on the premises. “Could it be known? I say no,” said the driver of El Pulso de la República.

Another colleague of Brozo and Chumel Torres who was also present in this discussion was Twitter user Max Kaiser, who asked several questions about the budget that was being used to maintain these facilities.
“How much is the daily operation of an “airport” that nobody uses? Why do we agree to pay whims for a private holiday, and years of public spending and debt? Can you imagine all that could be done with the money it costs to operate an empty “airport”?” , he questioned.

Finally, other opponents also made various comments on the matter, such as journalists Héctor de Mauleón and Javier Garza Ramos, as well as Deputy Laura Barrera Fortoul, of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
It should be noted that the lack of passengers in the AIFA is a reality and the main reason, in addition to the remoteness from the country's capital, is that very few airlines are operating inside this airport, although the government has been optimistic about the issue and hopes that companies will gradually migrate from AICM.

According to the logs last Friday, April 8, consulted by the Reuters agency, of the 14 confirmed arrivals and departures at the AIFA, located 45 kilometers north of the City from Mexico, five were military flights. Meanwhile, in the CDMX International Airport “Benito Juárez” (AICM) there are nearly 900 daily flights.
In other words, operations recorded in one day at AIFA account for 1.5% of daily arrivals and departures at AICM. So far, AIFA has six domestic routes: Tijuana, Cancun, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Villahermosa and Mérida, through Mexican airlines Aeromexico, Volaris and Vivaerobus.

The only international route so far is to the city of Caracas with the Venezuelan airline Conviasa. But on March 26, AIFA announced through its Facebook account that from the second half of 2022 it will have flights to the United States, the busiest international destination for Mexicans. He explained that the airlines that will provide their services will be Delta and Copa Airlines.
