Fernando Sánchez “N”, El Fernandito was captured by capital authorities in the Alvaro Obregón mayor's office while traveling in a luxury vehicle; he has been identified as one of the main operators of the Tepito Union in the Cuauhtémoc mayor's office in Mexico City.
The detainee would be the leader of extortionists in the Historic Center, since in addition to charging fees to fixed traders and semifixes, he dedicated himself to beating, threatening and kidnapping those who refused to cooperate.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Security (SSC), El Fernandito was surprised when he got off a Mercedes car in the Axotla neighborhood, as he was presumed to be trying to check a punctured tire when police officers intercepted him.
“While conducting security and surveillance tours in the streets of the Axotla colony, SSC officers noticed a man in an unusual attitude next to a high-end vehicle, carrying what appeared to be a firearm on his waist, so they approached with the necessary security measures,” the SSC reported.
The uniformed men asked the subject to prove the legal carrying of the weapon, which he could not verify and was therefore arrested and subsequently transferred to the Public Ministry of the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City (FGJ), where he was identified as a member of the Tepito Union.
El Fernandito obeyed the orders of El Huguito and El Chori, former leaders of the criminal association that operates in the center of the Mexican capital; the FGJ had an investigation kit against him, since he had been linked to extortion, murder and kidnapping.
When checking Fernandito's vehicle, the uniformed men found a cardboard box and a plastic bag containing solid cocaine, as well as a container that contained bulk marijuana inside.
“For this reason, the 27-year-old man was arrested, he was informed of his rights under the law and together with the possible drug and the insured vehicle, which has Morelos state license plates, he was transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office agent, who will be responsible for initiating the corresponding investigation folder and will determine their legal status,” said the SSC.
On April 6, the capital authorities completed a search warrant in the Morelos colony, bastion of the Tepito Union and the historical territory of the cells that make up the criminal association, which resulted in the securing of 121 doses of drugs and the arrest of two people.
As reported by the SSC, the capital authorities received an anonymous complaint that reported the alleged storage of auto parts, so a CDMX judge granted a search warrant to intervene in the home, where two car mirror windows were found.
After reviewing the address located on Costa Rica Street in the Morelos neighborhood, the authorities found 90 bags containing marijuana and 32 paper wrappers containing cocaine, in addition to the insured auto parts and two auto insurance policies.
A 30-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, who were inside the house, were captured and placed at the disposal of the local Public Prosecutor's Office. It was later revealed that the man was part of a criminal group, presumably the Tepito Union.
