In response to the warning of the President of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, about the possible cancellation of the consultation on the Revocation of Mandado, the controversial militant of the National Action Party (PAN), Javier Lozano Alarcón, assured that this is what the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) is looking for.
Through his official Twitter account, the former Secretary of Labor and Social Security (STPS) recalled that since the revocation process began, the cherry party has not tired of “scrubbing and a half” at the expense of the Constitution.
Therefore, he said he was not surprised that the cancellation of the democratic exercise was something planned by the party of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) to “fiercely” attack the electoral body.
In another publication, the Mexican politician indicated that “nothing else was missing”, and asked the officials of the so-called Fourth Transformation (Q4), whom he described as “cheaters”, to end the consultation on April 10.
Last Thursday, April 7, Councillor Lorenzo Córdova declared that the consultation is at risk, since the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) could cancel it due to the “systematic, malicious, blatant and impunity” violation of the rules of the process by officials of the current administration.
He added: “The Superior Chamber will take the appropriate decisions, and hopefully that systematic violations of officials do not result in the annulment of the process, it means the worst sanction to a democratic process.”
Faced with this, the president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Senate of the Republic, Ricardo Monreal, said on his official Twitter account that he would cancel the exercise is a “bad omen”.
In his message, the coordinator of the cherry bench in the lower house held that the annulment inhibits citizen participation, so he asked the electoral body to call for participation and “conduct itself with restraint and impartiality.”
While the head of government of Mexico City (CDMX), Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, declared that Lorenzo Córdova has a racist thought towards exercise, since recalled the comments made by the staff member about a representative of indigenous peoples.
“I think that, just as you have, you listened to the president of the INE, as he talks about representatives of indigenous peoples, I think that the same thought has to what a popular consultation represents,” he said during his press conference.
On April 6, the former Secretary of Labor and Social Security called on Mexicans not to participate in the consultation of President López Obrador, since he assured that AMLO must end his six-year term “with everything he is destroying”, and go live “on his ranch”.
Through a video posted on his social network, the politician explained that the Revocation is an exercise established in article 35 of the Constitution, which citizens can resort to if they do not agree with their president in turn.
For this reason, he questioned the insistence of the chief executive on conducting the consultation: “How rare that the main one affected by the revocation of mandate would be the president of the Republic, and how rare that he is the main promoter of the Revocation. Do you think we are estu**dos?”
