Curfew in Lima and Callao: what services are operating today, April 5?

At almost midnight on Tuesday, April 5, President Pedro Castillo announced the decision taken by the Council of Ministers to arrange for an immobilization social compulsory from 02:00 to 23:59 hours of the day in question, after the stoppage of carriers that has caused chaos, disorder, violence and even looting. This was made official in a Supreme Decree in the official newspaper El Peruano.

But which services are working and which are not?

According to the decree in El Peruno, you will not be able to walk out of the house, or buy from the wineries, delivery will be prohibited and all shopping centers, restaurants and shops will not be able to attend until the end of the curfew.

Thus, the transfer of persons working in: health services, medicines, continuity of water, sanitation, electric power, gas, fuel, telecommunications and related activities, cleaning and collection of solid waste, funeral services, transportation of cargo and goods and activities is allowed related.

Attention will also be allowed in pharmacies and pharmacies, in addition to the normal functioning of print, radio or television personnel, provided that they carry their personal work pass, their respective journalistic credential and their National Identity Document for identification purposes. Authorization is also extensive for mobile units that transport them for the fulfillment of their function.

Likewise, “persons who require urgent or emergency medical attention because they are at serious risk to their life or health are allowed to travel by private vehicle or pedestrian vehicle, as well as to purchase medicines. Workers in the public and private sectors perform only remote work, in accordance with the relevant regulations”

It is important to point out that a compulsory work pass will not be required to use a private vehicle or transit during curfew hours to go to the workplace, the citizen must carry: DNI and work card.

SERVICES THAT WORK NORMALLY

Other services that are operating regularly despite this curfew, are Jorge Chavez Airport. It was reported that it will continue to operate normally, but they recommend that passengers contact their airlines in advance to confirm their flights.

Thus, people came up with a trip scheduled for today, to carry their boarding pass (boarding pass) and identity document in case they are stopped on the way to the terminal. In addition, they should take precautions, as public transport will not operate on a regular basis.

The Metro Line also started operating regularly. Most people at the station in San Juan de Lurigancho said that they heard about this measure that morning, so they had to go to this means of transport.

It should be emphasized that this would be the only means of public transport in operation so far, and it is therefore recommended that workers who will work in person - according to the standard - take precautions.

In addition, the Fruit Market also operated with restrictions. They pointed out that of the eight doors, they are receiving for four of them and with 100% of the positions in operation. An official at the scene testified to TV Peru and said that they decided that the market should open its doors to the public, since even in times of pandemic and the forty years of COVID-19 they also worked and received the public on a regular basis.
