Fluminense, Gremio and Atlético Mineiro celebrated the first titles awarded this year in Brazilian football

Fluminense won this Saturday the Carioca Championship, the regional tournament of the state of Rio de Janeiro, by drawing at the Maracana stadium 1-1 with Flamengo, who hoped to win the title for the fifth time in a row. Argentine striker Germán Ezequiel Cano returned to being a figure and scored the draw after Flamengo had taken the lead in the first half with a goal from striker Gabriel Barbosa 'Gabigol'.

The Argentine footballer had scored both goals in the victory in the second leg, in which 'Flu' defeated 'Fla' 0-2, also in Maracana. Fluminense, who started Colombian hitch Jhon Arias, returned to being champion in the Rio de Janeiro regional league after 10 years.

In most of the 27 states the title of their regional tournaments is defined this weekend and this Saturday some of the champions were already known.

In Rio Grande do Sul, a state bordering Argentina and Uruguay, the title went to the Guild with goals from Bruno Alves and Rodrigues. He beat Ypiranga 2-1 and added his fifth consecutive conquest. In the first leg, Gremio won the Erechim team by 0-1. There he celebrated with the second division team the Colombian Jaminton Campáz who scored an Olympic goal during the championship.

In the state of Minas Gerais, whose capital is Belo Horizonte, Atlético Mineiro, with a double by Hulk and the other by Argentina's Nacho Fernández, beat Cruzeiro 3-1, and in the final played in a single match won its third regional title in a row. In the Galo, reigning Serie A champion of Brazil, the Colombian attacker Dylan Borrero celebrated again.

Hernandez scored three goals and one assist in just three matches during the month of March, with his goal appearances against Arsenal and Southampton. The striker won the Player of the Month award by showing his inexhaustible energy, intense speed and technical skill with the ball.

In a competitive poll, fans chose the striker ahead of midfielder and captain Moussa Sissoko, as well as players Amber-Keegan Stobbs and Megan Chandler.

Juan Camilo also won the prize for best goal of the month with a great goal against Arsenal. Kiko Femenia sent a precise ball to the area and the 22-year-old produced a spectacular Chilean to beat Aaron Ramsdale who was protecting the goal for the Gunners.

On the other hand, Luis Diaz won the prize for the second consecutive month with his brave header to open the scoring in the Premier League victory at Brighton & Hove Albion. The scoring cost him a hard clash against the goalkeeper who, when he was defeated by the rival, chose to knock him down

That effort surpassed Roberto Firmino's elegant score against Arsenal in a fan poll on Liverpool FC's website to decide the best goal of March.

In the vote, the guajiro striker overcame a powerful shot by Takumi Minamino in the FA Cup tie against Norwich City to take third place. Diogo Jota took fourth place in the voting and U-23 striker Max Woltman completed the top five goals.
