Renato Tapia has been praised for his performance during the South American Qualifiers with the Peruvian national team jersey. Due to his struggle with the 'white-roja', he has won the applause of the public on more than one occasion. However, the footballer is not the only warrior in his family, so is his wife Andrea Cordero.
The young woman announced on her blog “Amelia y su lámpara” that for some time she has been struggling with a disease that has no cure. This is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, a condition that needs constant medical treatment in order to cope with it.
In her account, the businesswoman points out that it affected her a lot to know that her condition had no cure, so for a long time she felt that she was adrift, until she decided to set a goal to fight and thus recover little by little.
“When I found out I had PCOS, a cloud of horrible doubts accompanied me for a while. To think that this is something that has no cure and that requires a lot of effort to cope with overwhelmed me very much. For years I felt adrift until I drew a horizon, one that I still struggle to reach,” he wrote.
Because she didn't have much knowledge about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, she decided to go to a specialist who helped her understand her condition better, something that helped her a lot over time.
“A few weeks ago I got a new endocrinologist. It is the second I have arrived here in Spain, and only with the review of my history, physical examination and my menstrual cycles was I able to diagnose myself with PCOS and insulin resistance. Since then I have been in treatment and I feel much better,” he said.
Finally, Renato Tapia's wife pointed out that she decided to reveal her condition in order to help other women who are going through a similar situation and have not yet been diagnosed. “I must admit that treating myself, both emotionally and physically, has been my main weapon,” he added.

WHAT IS PCOS AND ITS SYMPTOMS?
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects hormone levels in some women. Sufferers may have various symptoms, such as menstrual irregularities, hormonal disorders, fertility problems, hirsutism or alopecia, insulin resistance, obesity, polycystic ovaries, acne and acanthosis nigricans.
There is no cure for this disease, so doctors attack symptoms with different prescriptions, such as contraceptives to control menstruation, pills to prevent diabetes, among other things.
