A judge handed down a 75-year prison sentence against Alexis Antonio “N”, co-author of the femicide of Laura Elizabeth Rico Leyva in the state of Sonora.
According to the statement issued by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sonora (FGJE), the penalty, apart from that of femicide, included the crimes of disappearance of persons and the use of a stolen vehicle for the commission of other crimes.
Of those responsible for the crime, he is the only one who is alive, since two were deprived of it by persons still unknown in the entity.
The sentence was handed down at the Liaison Hearing, where the abbreviated procedure was held with a conviction judgment, after the accused accepted co-authorship of the crime of femicide in the light of the evidence.
They clarified that everything was duly supported by scientific investigations by staff of the Sonora Prosecutor's Office, which was endorsed by the judge and the co-participant accepted to access the shortened procedure to be sentenced to 75 years in prison.

It should be noted that Alexis Antonio “N” was arrested last Thursday, March 24, at a home in Puerto Peñasco in the Benito Juárez neighborhood in the state of Sonora. The officers searched the house after residents of the area saw three bodies inside through an opening, so they reported to the authorities.
Two of the bodies belonged to Angel “N” and a man they called El Cholo. The third body belonged to Laura Elizabeth, who was identified that same day by a hummingbird tattoo on her chest at shoulder height.
But that was not the only finding, since there was also a man who was identified as Alexis Antonio “N”. In a statement posted on her social networks, the Attorney General of Sonora, Claudia Indira Contreras Córdova, announced that the arrest warrant was executed against the man now guilty for his involvement in the femicide of 24-year-old Laura Elizabeth.
The Sonora Prosecutor's Office executed the arrest warrant and was charged with the crimes of enforced disappearance and the use of stolen vehicles to commit the crime.
This arrest warrant was issued after evidence presented and collected by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sonora, in which Alexis Antonio was assured.
He told the authorities that a person named Ángel ordered the deprivation of Laura's life as well as her concealment along with another named by the nickname Cholo.
Later, after hiding Laura's body, they moved to the home of two other subjects whose identity is still unknown. There, Angel and Cholo were murdered, but Alexis was left alive.
Crimes classified as femicide are punishable by 50 years or more.
Similarly, on 27 March, members of the PRD bench proposed that the crime of “attempted femicide” be included in the Federal Penal Code, with the aim of recognition of the offense, visibility of the victim and ensuring the reparation of harm from a gender perspective.
With this, any investigation into the murder of a woman would be investigated, from the outset, as femicide. The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) would be the one to infer the existence of gender-based crime in order to continue the investigation with that perspective.
