Epigmenio Ibarra lashed out at Lorenzo Córdova for dissemination to Mandate Revocation: “Nor is he a Democrat”

Producer Epigmenio Ibarra lashed out against the president of the National Electoral Institute (INE) ), Lorenzo Córdova, in questioning his role the role of the body prior to the Mandate Revocation Consultation, which will take place on 10 April.

Through his official Twitter account, the founder of Argos Comunicaciones said that “a campaign has been launched against” the popular consultation promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO). Likewise, Ibarra said that Córdova “is not a referee, nor is he a Democrat”.

However, it was not the only statement made by the producer, since he later assured that there is more information about the comments of the INE's presiding director on the democratic exercise, compared to the publicity of the Mandate Revocation.

“The personal campaign of @lorenzocordovav against the revocation of mandate consultation has more weight than the publicity of @INEMexico to promote citizen participation. I haven't seen a single spot, nor spectacles or pieces on the net. And you? ”, wrote Epigmenio Ibarra on social media.

Later, he came to the defense of López Obrador for criticism of his retractors and invited them to participate in the consultation so that they could remove him from his position as Chief Executive: “If you are so angry and angry with AMLO, why do you simply not vote in the revocation consultation and get him out? The conservatives cannot cope with democracy, but democracy can cope with them and them.”

“In almost every democracy in the world, the referendum, the consultation, the vote of censure is a method of citizen evaluation, a democratic insurance vs. venal or inefficient rulers, a possibility to rectify before more damage is done to the country,” he added.

Finally, he launched himself against those who call Tabasqueño “authoritarian”, since, according to his statements, his adversaries “do not believe in votes and citizen power.”

“Talking only about exercising a right - common in all democracies - makes fans of the conservative right and commentocracy mad and angry,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that in recent days, Lorenzo Córdova went out to deny the Chief Executive, after, during his morning conference on March 16, the president accused the INE of violating the Political Constitution for failing to report on the location and placement of these boxes.

“One of the fundamental tasks of this institute is to combat misinformation and today, one of the axes of disqualification of this process organized by the INE with citizens has been precisely to point out that the INE hides the location of the boxes, which is absolutely fallacious,” said the president's councillor on 24 march.

Another strategy taken by the INE to provide a response to the Tabasqueño was to advance the publication of the platform “Locate your box”, which is aimed, as its name indicates it, so that voters can enter and search for the place where they can cast their votes.

“According to the plan and schedule and according to what had been made public by this institution, it was originally planned that this system would be released as of March 28. But the Directorate of the Federal Register of Voters notifies me that, thanks to this joint effort, we will be able to anticipate the release of this information mechanism to the 26th day,” Córdova announced.
