Apple is working on a subscription service to make it easier to purchase iPhones and other products. This is what Bloomberg anticipated. This is an option that would involve the payment of a monthly fee to buy the company's mobile phone as well as other devices.

The project is currently under development, but that is a very promising idea that could soon be realized. Adopting hardware subscriptions would be a major change in strategy for the company, which aims to continue growing in the market.

The idea is to offer the purchase of an iPhone or iPad along with access to services such as iCloud storage or an Apple Music subscription. The company plans to allow customers to subscribe to hardware with the same Apple ID and App Store account that they already use to purchase apps and subscribe to services.

It differs from an installment purchase program, since the monthly fee would not be the price of the device divided into 12 or 24 months. Rather, it would be a monthly sum, still to be determined, that will depend on the equipment that the user chooses.

Subscriptions are likely to be managed through the Apple account, on devices, through the App Store, and on the company's website. It could also be an option that the user could access at the time of paying for their purchases, whether in the online store or physical.

The computer giant has been working for months on this initiative that is expected to be launched in late 2022, although it could be delayed until 2023 or even be canceled, as highlighted in the aforementioned publication.

The company has considered adding the hardware subscription program to its Apple One bundles and AppleCare support plans. The Cupertino giant launched those packages in 2020 for users to subscribe to various services, including TV+, Arcade, Music, Fitness+, as well as iCloud storage, for a lower monthly fee.

With this project, Apple is looking to expand its reach and generate more revenue. It should be noted that the iPhone is the biggest source of sales of the computer giant: it generated nearly $192 billion last year, more than half of the company's revenue.

This is not the first time that the company has generated programs to facilitate the acquisition of products. In 2015, the company launched the iPhone Upgrade Program, funded through Citizens One's personal loans, which allowed users to spread the cost of an iPhone over 24 months and upgrade to a new model every 12 months.

It also allows Apple Card (Apple Card) users to split the cost of an iPhone or Apple Watch for 24 months or an iPad or Mac for 12 months. Wireless service providers also offer several monthly installment schedules.

However, these projects differ from the new subscription model that is being worked on, which would be linked to an Apple account and which is probably easier to manage. In addition, it is likely to offer other extra benefits, although the details are not yet known.
