Rome, 24 Mar “Rockin 1000", the largest rock band in the world with more than a thousand musicians playing at the same time, will be invited to the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, from 10 to 14 May in the city of Turin (northern Italy). The organizers of the event announced today the presence of this “band” that for some years now brings together a thousand musicians, such as guitarists or drummers, to play rock classics together. They did not clarify how they will participate in this European music festival, but simply announced that “soon” the band will ask its members to record “something special” to show it in Turin. “Rockin 1000" was born when in 2015 an Italian scientist, Fabio Zaffagnini, played the song “Learn to fly” by Foo Fighters to a thousand musicians at the same time to ask the American band to play in their locality, in Cesena (northern Italy). Eurovision, which will be held in Italy after the Maneskin group's triumph last year, will start on May 10 with the first semifinal, the second will be on the 12th and the 14th will be the time for the Grand Final. Forty countries will compete in this edition, including Ukraine, according to its organizers, while Russia has been excluded by the invasion. The galas will be presented by singers Laura Pausini and Mika and by famous Italian television face Alessandro Cattelan. CHIEF gsm/acm
