Australian cyclist Kaden Groves (BikeExchange) was the fastest in the second stage of the Volta in Catalonia, this Tuesday in Perpignan, where Norwegian Jonas Hvideberg (DSM) became the new leader of the race.
The Nordic rider accumulated bonuses over the course of the stage that allowed him to unseat Australian Michael Matthews, the first leader after winning the first stage on Monday.

In this 202 km stage that passed through Spain and France, the British Simon Yates was distanced from the main squad 16 km to the finish line, as a result of a fall and a mechanical incident, eventually losing about thirty seconds to the rest of the rivals for victory in the general standings.
On Wednesday, the third stage will be held with 161 km between Perpignan and the La Molina ski resort, with a final climb of 12 km to 4.5% of average slope, where the Colombian Miguel Ángel 'Superman' López won in the 2019 edition.
